30 March 2023 (G.T.) - The Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) teams and riders are back on track, first at Donington Park (25/26 March), before heading straight on to Silverstone (28/29 March) for the final R&G Official Tests of the pre-season. With just over few days to wait until the eagerly awaited season opener at Silverstone this Easter (April 7/8/9), to face the Round 1 (the 11th and last will be at mid of October at Brands Hatch), the two tests mark the opportunity for fans to get a preview of the forthcoming Championship, as the teams and riders make their final preparations.
Among them, English team IN Competition with brilliant young rider (a Scot from Edinburgh) Lewis Rollo on his Aprilia RSV4, who finished second overall in the official test at Silverstone, National Superstock 1000 category. And here is the team IN competition press release.

It is good to be back! Official British Superbike Test 1 - Donington Park GP. The first official time back on track in 2023 for both Lewis and the IN Competition Team with sporadic rain for the entirety of the two days and that coupled with a brand new track surface, made going out for the six sessions a gamble. So the team, like most, chose not to go out for the first session on both days (zero track temperature, having a coffee was the better option!!). Throughout the rest of the time at Donington it was just a case of making sure Lewis was at ease with the bike and the team was well rehearsed before moving on to Silverstone.

Official British Superbike Test 2 - Silverstone National. 2020 National Superstock third place contender and Aprilia Superteen Champion Lewis Rollo, ended the final pre-season R&G Official Test at Silverstone by solidifying P2 overall. The weather was very hit and miss but that didn’t dampen the team’s spirits as they came together after each session for team discussions on which way to go with certain elements they had tested out but the focus now turns to the opening round back at Silverstone on Easter weekend (April 7/8/9). Lewis has fitted back into the team (adaptability) having already worked with team owner Ian Newton throughout his career and Chief Mechanics, David Jenkison and Alex Taylor. We also welcomed new data ‘extraordinaire’ Sam Palmer, who has also slotted in remarkably well.

Lewis Rollo (bike no. 8): “Brilliant few days of testing. Donington we never got many laps in with the weather and conditions but we moved onto Silverstone and worked our way through a few things as a team whilst I got more comfortable on the bike every session. To leave the test 2nd overall in horrible conditions is great for myself and the team but in each individual session we were always up at the sharp end, that's the main thing!! It was a shame not to get any dry laps in as that’s what we need just now but we move onto round 1 and will give it our 100% as a team.

Manager - Ian Newton: “Our first official BSB test could not have gone much better. The team worked very hard and made lots of changes for Lewis to try which he adapted very quickly to them all. Lewis is the same person as we all remembered previously and a pleasure to work with. All the team is looking forward to the first round in a week's time. A big thank you to all the people who make it possible.
