In the specific segment of “Police” outfitted vehicles – fitted with sirens, lights and flashers, luggage for equipment and first aid rescue, and with customised graphics and liveries – the Corporate Business team has expanded the offer of scooters and motorcycles in order to meet the various needs of motorcycle officers in a more targeted way.

These are usually used for handling tactical and patrolling operations and to carry out any first aid rescue services that may be required in the event of traffic accidents. There are significant advantages to riding scooters and motorcycles for these purposes: agility in city traffic, low fuel consumption and operating costs, and rapid response.

MUNICIPAL POLICE FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF VECCHIANO (PISA, ITALY) - OPERATION SAFE BEACHES.
Piaggio supplied two MP3 300 Hpe Euro 5 units to the Vecchiano Municipal Police outfitted in the “Police” version and customised. The vehicles are used to patrol the Tuscan beach areas in their jurisdiction, particularly during the summer when tourism and traffic are high. The Piaggio 3-wheeled maxi scooters provide great stability, even on sandy sections. Procurement of the new vehicles, already in service since last spring, was made possible by the Municipal Government’s participation in the “Safe Beaches” project, financed by the Ministry of the Interior. The vehicles allow for better patrolling and, therefore, greater safety on the beaches for residents and tourists.

The above are just two examples of recent Police version vehicle supplies from the Corporate Business range. There have been numerous supplies carried out over time. Similar vehicles are in service in various other cities, such as the Piaggio MP3 350 units operated by the local police of the Pordenone-Cordenons Inter municipal Body used for city patrol.
