Pontedera (Italy), 5 November 2024 – At an international premiere organised during the Ecomondo fair in Rimini, the Piaggio Group (PIA.MI) today presented the new Porter NPE, the first full-electric city truck.

The latest entry extends the Piaggio range of commercial vehicles with two new four-wheel electric models, designed for the specific needs of intra-city mobility, thanks to a combination of compact dimensions and a payload of at least one tonne, a particularly high capacity for this class of vehicle.
The new electric Porter range is manufactured in Italy, in the Piaggio Group’s Pontedera factory, and distributed in the main European countries through a network of dealers who specialise in commercial vehicle sale and support services, for maximum customer satisfaction.

The new electric Porter trucks come with innovative cybersecurity solutions and active and passive vehicle safety systems, including advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The new features are also available on the eco-friendly bi-fuel Porter models (petrol\gas and petrol\lpg).
The heart of the new Porter NPE is the Electric Drive Unit (EDU), a compact system comprising the electric motor, the inverter and the transmission. It has been designed to deliver high performance and maximum efficiency, while minimising the weight, size and number of components and optimising the electric and cooling circuits. As a result, the EDU guarantees consistently impressive performance over time.
The electric motor powers the Porter NPE to a top speed of 90 km/h, ideal for the purposes of the new city e-truck. Similarly, the range of more than 250 km1 is perfect for a vehicle integrating high-end performance values such as a payload supporting weights up to 1,055 kg with compact dimensions, agility and ease of use.
