February 2022 - In Georgia, the fleet of 41 Piaggio MP3 500 E5 units is protagonist of a significant supply destined for the Georgian Ministry of Health for emergency medical response service. The vehicles, customised and fitted with sirens and flashing lights, are used by paramedics, equipped with first aid emergency kits.
The fleet was purchased through the Georgia trader – Pitstop Moto of Tbilisi – by the Georgian section of UNOPS (The United Nations Office for Project Services: www.unops.org). The Pitstop Moto Academy will also be conducting technical and practical training for paramedics.
Pitstop Moto explains the operation: “In 2021, on behalf of the World Bank and the project to support the Georgian Emergency service, the Georgian UNOPS office announced the tender to supply the Georgian Ministry of Health with 41 three-wheeled vehicles, including the emergency kit and complete protection/specific apparel for 132 paramedics. On 10 October 2021, Pitstop Moto was awarded the tender, which they participated in, focusing the offer on Piaggio MP3 500 Sport Advanced Euro 5 three-wheeled vehicles. These vehicles will be in use from the summer of 2022 and will be monitored by the Ministry. If the project is successful, the fleet could increase significantly. Pitstop Academy will be involved in the technical and practical training of the paramedics in order to best support the project.”
