November 2019 - To complete the Vespa Sprint and Vespa GTS Super Racing Sixties Special Series, exclusively presented at the international motorcycle exhibition EICMA 2019, was also launched the 2020 capsule collection dedicated: a range of garments and two coordinating helmet versions have been designed, inspired by the vehicles' graphics. The two colour schemes take up the shades of the Vespa Racing Sixties, namely Rosso Dragon and Bianco Ottico, or Giallo Estate and Verde Bosco.
The sweatshirts and t-shirts making up this Vespa special edition are very much in line with the legendary two-wheelers that inspire them (Vespa Sprint and Vespa GTS Super Racing Sixties), once again confirming how naturally Vespa is able to cross from a world that is strictly scooter to take centre stage in the land of lifestyle. A role that is particularly fitting in this guise, inspired by a golden age of racing - the roaring 60s, populated by gentlemen riders - that returns to the fore today in the form of classic sports style with a contemporary twist.
Complete with European homologation in accordance with the law, the helmets offer the comfort of an adjustable ventilation system and feature an external fibreglass shell with anti UV ray paint, a scratch-proof visor, a hypo-allergenic interior that is removable and washable, and a practical double D ring fastening system. Style wise, just like the Vespas with which they coordinate, they boast a sporty yet classic aesthetic, achieved by pairing clean graphic lines with simple colours such as yellow on green, or red on white.
The same spirit lives on in garments in the Vespa Racing Sixties clothing line, in pure cotton with stripes and contrasting logos. The Vespa Racing Sixties Lifestyle Look stands out for the clean washes of colour that emerge thanks to bold front stripes on the t-shirts and sweatshirts, the various graphics of which are reflected in the collar trim and inner sweatband of the t-shirts, and inside the collar and cuffs and around the edges of the sweatshirts, which can be fully opened thanks to the matching zip.
References to the racing world are hidden in the details, such as the chequered graphics of the yellow on green t-shirt, a clear nod to racing, as is the Racing Sixties logo, especially created for this capsule collection and standing out, in silicone, on the garments, as well as on the full-jet helmets and, naturally, on the Vespa Sprint and GTS Super Racing Sixties in the form of a plate.
